Modern and user-friendly online system
Battery producers and importers have a legal acceptance obligation regarding the prevention, awareness, collection and recycling of used batteries. Bebat takes over these obligations for its members, who still have to report the amount of batteries placed on the market. They use the online platform for this.
"We used an outdated internet application where our customers could make their declarations," says Martine Vanheers, director of Public Affairs & Participants at Bebat. "This worked slowly and did not integrate with our other applications. Moreover, our customer database was due for renewal and we were looking for a new accounting package. So we were searching for a web platform that fully integrated with both a CRM and an ERP package. "
Now customers can easily submit their battery return, and always have access to their declarations, invoices, contracts, and so on. New companies can quickly become members via the new platform.
Clear data processing
Thanks to the new system, customer declarations are very efficient. Martine Vanheers: "Because our users are selling more and more products with batteries inserted, they can now create those products themselves in their online declarations. And then they can link the batteries." The recruitment of members is also much faster. In the past everything was done manually and sometimes the registration of a new member took weeks. Now everything runs through the platform, up to the signing of the agreement.
The online platform is also used for handling customer audits. "We can easily exchange information with external audit firms and we can also process those results faster. We easily retrieve the data for reporting to the government from our database," says Martine Vanheers.
